FAAST_ (Force And Asset Search Tool)

FAAST is a web-based, database-driven, Asset Visibility (AV) management tool that uses Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced (PBUSE) data, FEDLOG, AMDF and other data sources. FAAST is APMS registered, Enterprise compliant, DIACAP compliant with DIACAP accreditation pending and was GCSS-A Blueprinted in 2006.
FAAST capabilities include a Force Tree which mirrors the PBUSE UIC Tree, Automated Redistribution Planner, Deployment Planner, CONUS map equipment identification tool, Conversion, Transformation, Deployment and ARFORGEN MGMT tools.
FAAST is utilized by Logisticians at all levels to assist war-fighters in making readiness and equipping decisions. In addition to providing an automated redistribution tool, FAAST also provides a deployment planner, AV of forward (FWD), Rear, Left Behind Equipment (LBE), and Theater Positioned Equipment (TPE). With FAAST, Commands are able to quickly track the dollar value and quantity of equipment excess and shortages. FAAST provides an automated method for the notification of units and tracking of lateral transfer and turn-in directives. The directive system is easily modifiable to accommodate unique needs of individual units and installations. This provides asset managers a single logistics-information platform that assist units at all levels in making informed equipment management decisions. The use of FAAST has a direct impact on unit readiness, as unit excesses and shortages are easily identifiable and property can be quickly moved to fill high-priority MTOE shortages.
Note: FAAST (Force and Asset Search Tool) is the new generation of CAVERS.
